About the Vigo County Democratic Party
The Vigo County Democratic Party serves as the official local organization of the Democratic Party. Our mission is to strengthen Vigo County by advancing policies and leadership that allow families to prosper. We are dedicated to electing Democrats at every level of government, from local offices to the presidency, to ensure responsive and effective representation. Through the recruitment of qualified candidates, the support of current Democratic officials, and the engagement of committed volunteers, we work to build a stronger, more inclusive community.

By maintaining and modernizing essential infrastructure, Vigo County can attract new businesses, create jobs, improve public safety, and ensure residents have the services they need today and for future generations.
Lower Utility Bills & Cost of Living
Families and businesses deserve reliable utilities at a fair price. We support eliminating the sales tax on utilities, stopping excessive rate increases, and promoting affordable energy solutions that reduce monthly bills. We also believe large data centers and major industrial users should pay their fair share of utility and water costs so local residents are not left footing the bill. By putting consumers first, we can help make everyday living more affordable for Hoosier families.
AFFORDABLE
HOUSING
Everyone deserves access to a safe, affordable place to call home. We support increasing the supply of affordable housing through new construction, helping rehabilitate vacant and abandoned properties, and encouraging responsible development that strengthens neighborhoods. We also believe landlords should be held accountable for maintaining safe living conditions and that housing should serve families and communities—not large corporate investors. By expanding housing opportunities and revitalizing existing properties, we can help keep Vigo County affordable for working families, seniors, and young professionals.
