COUNTY SURVEYOR
Bruce Allen is a dedicated public servant and surveying professional with more than 30 years of experience serving Vigo County. Since beginning his career in 1992, Bruce has worked in surveying, mapping, GIS technology, engineering support, and public service, developing a deep understanding of the critical role the County Surveyor's Office plays in protecting property rights, maintaining accurate public records, and supporting county infrastructure.

A lifelong resident of Vigo County, Bruce has built his career on accuracy, accountability, and service to the community. His extensive experience with boundary surveys, regulated drains, public records management, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has helped ensure reliable land records and effective infrastructure planning for residents, businesses, farmers, and local government agencies.

Bruce was elected Vigo County Surveyor in 2014 and began serving his first term in 2015. Prior to his election, he spent 23 years working in the Vigo County Surveyor's Office, including 16 years as Chief Deputy Surveyor. By January 2027, Bruce will have completed three terms as Vigo County Surveyor, bringing more than three decades of institutional knowledge and leadership to the position.

Throughout his career, Bruce has remained active in professional organizations, including the County Surveyors Association of Indiana, the Indiana Society of Professional Surveyors, and the Indiana Geographic Information Council. His commitment to community service extends beyond his profession. He has been a member of American Legion Post 104 Sons Of The American Legion. Bruce also served as Board Member for more than 20 years, and a past president for the Terre Town Baseball League and dedicated 38 years to coaching youth baseball, mentoring generations of local athletes.

Bruce and his wife, Tammy, have been married for 17 years. Together they have built a large and close-knit family that includes two adult sons and three grandchildren. Bruce remains committed to serving Vigo County with the same professionalism, integrity, and dedication that have defined his career.
