STATE SENATE- 42

Brandi is a neonatal nurse practitioner, wife, mother, caregiver, and lifelong advocate for Indiana families. Her decision to run for State Representative wasn't driven by politics, it was driven by life experience.

When Brandi was in her third trimester with her first child, a serious medical complication changed everything. Her son was born 10 weeks early, and instead of bringing home a healthy newborn, her family spent nearly three months in the NICU. As a neonatal nurse practitioner, Brandi had cared for countless families facing similar challenges. Suddenly, she was living that experience herself.

She was fortunate to have a supportive employer, dedicated coworkers, and family who helped care for her son. Even with that support, she had to use all of her paid time off just to continue receiving a paycheck while caring for her newborn. Her later pregnancies were also high-risk, requiring extended bed rest and additional time away from work.

Those experiences gave Brandi a firsthand understanding of the difficult choices many Indiana families face every day.
Throughout her healthcare career, Brandi has stood beside parents forced to make impossible decisions: Should they use their leave while their baby is still in the NICU? Save it for when their child finally comes home? Return to work before they're ready simply to keep their health insurance?

She believes no parent should ever have to choose between caring for their child and providing for their family.
Brandi's passion for serving others also comes from caring for her grandfather during the final chapter of his life. Her family worked together to keep him at home, where he wanted to be. One day he looked at his nurse and simply said, "My family takes good care of me." Those words have stayed with Brandi ever since, reminding her that every family deserves the opportunity to care for the people they love with dignity and compassion.

These experiences shaped Brandi's priorities.

She believes Indiana should support families through childbirth, adoption, illness, caregiving, and end-of-life care. She believes healthcare should be affordable and accessible, and that working families deserve policies that help them—not force impossible choices.

Education is equally personal to Brandi. Public schools have played a defining role in her family's life. Her husband and grandparents were public school teachers, and her mother has spent more than three decades serving Indiana students. Brandi knows firsthand the opportunities that strong public schools provide.

She believes every child deserves the freedom to explore their interests, discover their strengths, and prepare for a future filled with opportunity. She supports empowering local schools, respecting educators, and ensuring every student has the resources they need to succeed.

Brandi is running because she believes Indiana can do better. With responsible leadership, our state can invest in families, strengthen public education, expand access to affordable healthcare, and build communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

She believes government should put people first, not politics.

If you share Brandi's vision for an Indiana that supports families, values public education, expands access to quality healthcare, and creates opportunity for every Hoosier, she would be honored to earn your support.

Together, we can build a stronger future for Indiana.
