PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
Johnny Vaughn is a trial-tested attorney, lifelong Vigo County resident, and dedicated public servant committed to protecting the community he proudly calls home.

After graduating from McLean Alternative School, Johnny attended Ivy Tech Community College before transferring to Indiana State University, where he studied Economics and Political Science. While at Indiana State, he served as a legislative intern with the Indiana State Senate, gaining firsthand experience in public policy and government. He later earned his Juris Doctor and returned home to build his legal career serving the people of Vigo County.

Throughout his legal career, Johnny has handled cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony offenses. He has prepared cases for trial, presented evidence before juries, negotiated resolutions, and worked directly with victims, law enforcement officers, and members of the community. His courtroom experience has reinforced the values that guide his candidacy: integrity, accountability, fairness, and public safety.

Johnny believes the Prosecutor's Office belongs to the people of Vigo County. He is committed to ensuring justice is administered fairly, transparently, and consistently while keeping neighborhoods safe and supporting victims throughout the legal process. He understands that public trust in the criminal justice system is earned through professionalism, communication, and accountability.
